The work we do at Giverny Gardens is an expression of beauty through art and nature, a display of taste and style in civilized life, representative of an individual or culture's philosophy.

The Owners

The name Giverny Gardens was inspired by the famous garden of French artist Claude Monet, a favorite garden of husband and wife team D.J. and Laura Ferro. Laura, the head designer at Giverny Gardens, blends a background in design with a passion for gardening to create memorable installations that reflect each client's unique tastes.

We are one of the only companies in the Main Line that caters exclusively to residential clients and are very sensitive to homeowner specific needs. "Unlike typical landscape firms we can present a master plan that includes landscaping, hardscaping and outdoor living facilities," DJ states. "Homeowners tend to look at these projects individually, but when we combine the building and landscaping, it's a win-win for the client."

A key asset for the client is Laura's strong background in design. Laura spent much of her life in England assisting her family’s gardening business that had her traveling throughout Europe. “My parents traveled a lot,” Laura explains, “ and I spent a great deal of time experiencing diverse cultures and visiting some of the most beautiful gardens in the world.” After graduating from Oxford University Laura moved to New York City to work for Studio 54 co-founder and entrepreneur Ian Schrager before turning to her passion, gardening, and launching Giverny Gardens. Together with husband and marketing executive DJ Ferro, Giverny Gardens was created in order to provide a more personal gardening experience not yet commonly found in landscaping.

As we near the end of our landscaping project John and I wanted to share our absolute delight with the results we are seeing so far. You did a fabulous job at taking our initial thoughts and turning them into something we could have never dreamed of.

It's not every day a British female landscaper is available for free gardening consultations so we are so glad we took you up on your offer. As a 20 year resident of the Main Line your experience and approach to gardening is truly unlike any other company we've encountered.

Your communication and creativity made it clear to my wife and I that we were not dealing with a typical landscaping company and feel your residential only focus really was apparent once we got into the heart of the project.

I wanted to take a minute to let you know how surprised but yet extremely pleased I am with all the new plantings in our front yard garden. I say surprised because I've utilized at least 3 or 4 previous landscaping firms in the past all with disappointing outcomes. From day one, I could see that this was going to be a very different experience and only wish I would have found you sooner.

Giverny Gardens supports many local organizations, giving back to the community in time and talents through numerous
cultural and charitable organizations. Whether it's leading garden tours or supporting the interests and activities
of our clients, Giverny Gardens gives back into the heart of the Main Line community.

Gardens are gathering spaces and rather than lingering on the front porch to swap gardening tales, we've created a virtual gathering place called MainLineGardening.com. It's a free community website that includes articles, advice and more from experts garden writers. Learn about vegetable and flower gardening, seed starting, houseplants, and even cooking what you grow. It's our way of supporting and nurturing the local community through sharing what we know.
